Shaping Planetary Nebulae: Is It Different for [wr] Stars?
نویسنده
چکیده
The Wolf–Rayet phenomenon is a stellar phenomenon. This means that its length scale is essentially that of the star, i.e. some 10 cm. A typical nebular size is 10 cm or higher, which immediately illustrates that it may not be easy to make the connection between the star and the nebulae and observations confirm this. In this paper I will try to discuss some ways in which the nebular properties could be changed by the presence of a [WR] central star. The star’s actio in distans is through two means

Stellar wind bubbles around WR and [WR] stars
We study the dynamics of stellar wind bubbles around hydrogen-deficient stars using numerical simulations with timeand ion dependent cooling. We consider two types of hydrogen-deficient stars, massive WR stars, producing Ring Nebulae, and low mass [WR] stars, producing Planetary Nebulae. We show that for the Planetary Nebulae, the different cooling properties of the hydrogen-deficient wind lead...
متن کاملClassification of Iso Sws01 Spectra of Proto-planetary Nebulae: a Search for Precursors of Planetary Nebulae with [wr] Central Stars
We have analyzed ISO SWS 01 observations for 61 proto-planetary nebulae candidates and classified their spectra according to their dominant chemistry. On the basis of our classification and the more general classification of SWS01 spectra by Kraemer et al. (2002) we discuss the connection between proto-planetary nebulae candidates and planetary nebulae, with emphasis on possible precursors of p...
متن کاملPlanetary nebulae with emission - line central stars
The kinematic structure of a sample of planetary nebulae, consisting of 23 [WR] central stars, 21 weak emission line stars (wels) and 57 non-emission line central stars, is studied. The [WR] stars are shown to be surrounded by turbulent nebulae, a characteristic shared by some wels but almost completely absent from the non-emission line stars. The fraction of objects showing turbulence for non-...
متن کاملChemical compositions and plasma parameters of planetary nebulae with Wolf - Rayet and wels type central stars ⋆
Aims. Chemical compositions and other properties of planetary nebulae around central stars of spectral types [WC], [WO], and wels are compared with those of 'normal' central stars, in order to clarify the evolutionary status of each type and their interrelation. Methods. We use plasma diagnostics to derive from optical spectra the plasma parameters and chemical compositions of 48 planetary nebu...
متن کاملPlanetary Nebulae in the Scheme of Binary Evolution
In this review I present the binary model for the shaping of planetary nebulae (PNe) as I view it, in the context of historical evolution of other models for the shaping of PNe over more than 30 years. In describing the binary model, I concentrate on works published since the last IAU meeting on PNe. I think stellar companions are behind the shaping of bipolar PNe, i.e., having two lobes with a...
